masculine and feminine belong to both men and women, but the feminine qualities of emotions, sentimentality, and sensitivity inherent to the men that they feel incapable/unable/or dont want to express have to go somewhere… and it goes right back to the feminine where it finds a place of acknowledgement that will reflect it
so in general women are dealing with and taking on the pasts and unresolved issues of most of the men in their lives 
women are known to be very ‘emotional’ because projections are confessions
